The appropriate approach depends on the soil, slope, catchment and site activities. Surface treatments must be coordinated with drainage and sediment controls; concentrated flows and disturbed areas may require additional measures and maintenance.

Mulch options for the specification
Options may include Bonded Fibre Matrix (BFM), a bonded fibre layer for surface erosion protection, or Hydraulic Growth Media (HGM), mulch-based media used to support vegetation establishment and surface protection.
Product suitability, preparation, application rate and service conditions need to be confirmed for each site. No single mulch treatment suits every slope or runoff condition.
